Celebrating 25 Years of Innovation, Imagination, and Impact in Dance, Aerial, and Circus Arts Education
Rosalinda Rojas is a master dance and circus arts educator celebrating 25 years since founding the Albuquerque School for Circus Arts. A proud member of both American Youth Circus Educators and American Circus Educators, she brings a deeply integrative and culturally responsive approach to movement education. Her teaching and coaching are grounded in somatically informed practices, injury prevention, and applied anatomy and movement dynamics, supporting students across a full range of experiences—from recreational learners to pre-professional performers.
Certified in ABT® National Training Curriculum and Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), Rojas thoughtfully integrates these systems into the physical, cultural, and curricular frameworks she designs. Since 2003, she has led innovative and joyful dance, aerial, and circus arts programming through THINK Academy in Albuquerque.
Her foundational work in New York City includes teaching and coaching with the Big Apple Circus/New York School for Circus Arts, in collaboration with ArtsConnection Young Talent Circus Program and the New York State Public School System. She also choreographed and coached pre-professional circus students at the Harbor School for the Arts. Her performance credits include aerial work with Carden International Circus, Circo América in Puerto Rico, the Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center, the Flying Karamazov Brothers at the Vivian Beaumont Theater, and the Pickle Family Circus. She was honored with the Nîce Martin and Junior Juror Awards at the II Rampe Festival in Monte Carlo.
Rojas holds an MFA from Montclair State University, an MA in Dance Education from the University of Northern Colorado—where her action research focused on aerial dance and circus training—and a BFA from the University of New Mexico. Her research also includes field study in Havana, Cuba, where she explored circus arts training and performance practices within the Cuban cultural context. She is currently a PhD student (2026 cohort), deepening her lifelong commitment to embodied learning, cultural storytelling, and movement innovation.
Her former students have pursued successful careers in renowned circus companies such as Cirque du Soleil and Big Apple Circus, as well as in fields such as engineering, choreography, and creative direction—testament to the wide-ranging impact of her holistic and visionary teaching.

An adventurous and skill-building introduction to circus arts for children ready to soar higher. This class focuses on developing strength, coordination, and confidence through foundational aerial and ground circus skills. Students explore beginner trapeze techniques, partner balances, and expressive movement in a supportive, creative environment. Emphasis is placed on safety, body awareness, and collaborative learning.

Children’s Circus Company
Step into the circle of creativity, courage, and culture with Circo Raíces—a performance-based youth troupe where young artists build foundational circus skills while expressing their unique stories through movement and imagination. Grounded in community values and inspired by global circus traditions, students train in trapeze, acrobatics, and character-based storytelling.
